This beautiful mountain lake looks so cool and inviting. It beckons us in to leave our cares on the shore and wash our worries away. It is one of my favorite “swimming holes.” The mountains seem protective. I love swimming in this lake especially after a long hike. Once, while sitting on the shore of this lake, in almost this very spot, I watched a bald eagle swoop back and forth over the lake, getting lower and lower with every pass, until it finally reached down and snatched an enormous brown trout with its claws and then flew back to its perch on the other side of the lake. Quiet moments in places such as this one can be magical.
