Specific location: DaVinci’s Workshop in Downtown Billings, Montana

Sunday – Tuesday, June 25, 26, 27
Cost: $300.00
Maximum Students: 20

In this 3-day workshop in Downtown Billings, Ceilon will assist students with making a watercolor painting of a scene from the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. Students will leave the workshop with at least one finished painting of a scene from Yellowstone Country that they can be proud of. The landscape may include Yellowstone ecosystem animals such as grizzly bears, bison, moose, elk, deer, mountain sheep, or others.

Ceilon Aspensen, award winning artist and art teacher for over twenty years, will be teaching a 3-day watercolor workshop in which students will either follow along and paint a painting exactly like the one she is painting, or they can paint one of their own in a similar theme/style from their own photos or from photos she provides. Each day will consist of painting time from 10-12:30am and 1:30-4:00pm. Ceilon will guide the students through the elements of art, principles of design, color theory, and the mechanics and techniques of watercolor painting. The course will be suited to both experienced watercolor artists who want to improve their technique and skill as well as beginners who have no experience at all. Ceilon creates a low stress and fun teaching environment where play and experimentation are encouraged, mistakes are non-existent (because every “mistake” is really a serendipitous opportunity to transform something into a new idea), and everyone leaves with a finished painting they can be proud of. Ceilon also assists students with their drawing skills and gives them three ways to improve the realism and accuracy in their drawings, because good drawings are the basis for good paintings.
