Animals

I love animals of all kinds. Whether wild or domestic, there is nothing I enjoy more than bringing an animal I’ve met to life on the canvas or the page. I started doing pet portraits when my first beloved dog passed away. It was a way to grieve and heal my broken heart, as well as create a priceless keepsake that would remind me of my sweet friend. Then I started painting and drawing wild animals I encountered while out of doors. I found that I came to a new understanding of these animals through the act of drawing and painting them.
